Bui National Park, located in the Bono Region and Savannah Region of Ghana, is a remarkable natural reserve established in 1971. Spanning an area of 1,820 square kilometers, the park is situated in a typical woodland savanna zone. The park is bisected by the Black Volta River, with the western section forming part of the Bono region and the eastern section forming part of the Savannah Region of Ghana. The park also borders Ivory Coast to the west.

The Bui National Park is renowned for its large Hippopotamus population that resides in the Black Volta. The park is also home to the endangered black and white colobus monkey, a variety of antelopes, and a diverse array of bird species. However, part of the park has been inundated by the reservoir of the Bui Dam, which was constructed from 2007 to 2013.

The closest towns to the park are Nsawkaw, Wenchi, and Techiman, making it accessible for visitors seeking to experience the rich biodiversity of Ghana. The park’s unique location and diverse wildlife make it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers.
